Valladolid City Council has added four Geesinknorba vehicles powered by CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) to its fleet of vehicles. On Friday November 13th, the Mayor Oscar Puente, stressed during the presentation of the new vehicles that the investment is an important step forward in terms of material resources and environmental sustainability.
The new AMS CL1 Electric Side Loaders are extremely durable and as the hydraulic pumps are powered by an electric motor, the waste compacting operation produces lower noise levels. In addition, every time the truck brakes, the system recharges the batteries without any fuel consumption.
The full electric GPM IV Li-On Power rear loaders are chassis-independent and use the chassis batteries as their power source. The Li-On Power system converts energy by means of a speed controller and a three-phase motor into hydraulic power to run the bin lifting system and press mechanism smoothly, economically and conveniently. Our technology allows the electrical operation of the equipment and the lifting system with the engine turned off. Therefore, the system reduces noise significantly.
Thanks to our units, the Valladolid City Council meets its goal to improve the air quality in the city of Valladolid which contributes to the health of the population. Geesinknorba designs smooth bodies to facilitate an easy cleaning and labelling of the body. Here they have been decorated with works of art by the Valladolid artist Manuel Sierra whose paintings “aim to draw the attention of the population to the fact that a large part of what is collected in the containers, and therefore in these trucks, can be reused if the refuse is segregated correctly thanks to the cooperation of citizens”.
