Geesinknorba is unveiling the new hybrid GPM IV at RWM 2015 on September 15-17 in Birmingham. The new vehicle will be displayed at our stand in Hall 5, 5T140-W141.
The GPM IV was already enthusiastically received at last RWM. This year we will show a GPM IV rear loader with hybrid technology, in which a lithium-ion battery powers the compaction and lifting operation instead of the diesel engine. This results in more fuel efficiency and less noise without losing capacity and functionality.

Design of the GPM IV was stripped back to basics but with all those elements that were removed still available as modular design. Depending on the specifications the customer chooses, this can lead to a major weight reduction. In addition to this, the new body is manufactured of a light-weight, single-sheet body which leads to a further weight reduction, but still provides added strength and durability. The electronics and hydraulic components are moved to the elements they serve and away from the tailgate to improve the weight distribution.
After the show, Reading-based Select Environmental will be taken delivery of this innovative hybrid GPM IV rear loader. The unit is fitted with a GAC 6010 lifter. This equipment features a chain system and hydraulic jack legs mounted underneath the hopper, to empty the large, industrial skip containers. For additional user flexibility, the GAC also has a bar lift to handle the standard 2 and 4-wheel DIN containers on the same route.

Test results show that the GPM IV rear loader produces significantly less noise than its GPM III predecessor. The standard GPM IV produces: 95 dB(A) and the electric GPM IV only 87 dB(A).
