The Etten-Leur municipality has taken delivery of three new hybrid units to expand its fleet of vehicles. The crew and residents will benefit from less noise and emissions during the waste collection services.
The new hybrid units have been designed for urban environments with short journeys between collections. The technology on board these vehicles is impressive, alongside their capabilities to deliver a full collection route once fully charged. During collection the engine will be automatically switched off which makes the job easier for operators and ensures residents waste collections will be done efficient and in time.
The chassis has to carry extra weight of the batteries. However, the weight has been perfectly distributed over the chassis to ensure the units maintain a high pay load. The battery will be recharged on a daily basis, connecting it to the electricity mains during the night.
