We can proudly announce the first 100% full electric Geesink RCV on GINAF E3123.
The project was initiated due to the increasing demand for full electric RCVs for use in urban areas. It brought three branch-related companies one and a half year ago together: Truckland versatile truck dealer, Geesinknorba innovative body builder and GINAF manufacturer of electric chassis, to develop this unique vehicle.
Together they converted a DAF LF FAG to a full electric RCV. The unit features an ESTEPE front axle, a cab for three persons and a Geesink GPM IV body with split lift. All components are electrically powered by the integrated 200kWh battery package, with a range of 180 km and a fast charging option. The unit features a 44 kW charger which makes it possible to recharge the vehicle in only four hours. Plus, the braking energy will be used to recharge the batteries which means 40% extra energy.
GINAF removed the diesel engine and other components from the DAF LF FAG chassis and replaced it by a 250 kWh electrical drive line and a battery package. The battery package powers both the drive line and the body. Years of development has resulted in a very efficient and economic product.
The unit features a Geesink 14 m³ body, a full automatic split lift and the innovative LI-ON Power Pro. That system is a special development by Geesinknorba, who has been a successful pioneer in electric waste management solutions for more than 15 years now. With the LI-ON Power Pro less energy is needed from the batteries to increase the operating time of the vehicle further. The LI-ON Power Pro is the ideal solution for full electric vehicles in the waste industry.
The front axle of ESTEPE allows for a perfect weight division on the chassis and maximum manoeuvrability of the vehicle. The body can carry 8t of waste with a GVW of 22.5t and is only 2.35 wide. The noiseless operation of the truck makes it possible to use the truck in urban areas and also during the evening/night. A window in the side door and the camera system allows for more visibility for the drivers. The cabin features an extra chair for a third person.
The vehicle has been tested thoroughly with more than one million kilometres in the field and the results are very positive. We would like to give waste management companies the opportunity to experience a full electric truck before they make the decision to buy one. Therefore, you can contact André Komen, Branch Manager Benelux if you would like to use the truck for a while or just need additional information. The unit will also soon be added to the rental fleet of Truckland.
