Renewi, the international waste-to-product company, has received its first Geesink GPM IV rear loader on the new DAF XD chassis. It concerns a DAF FAN XD300 cabin with a wheelbase of only 3800 mm. The brand-new configuration will enter service in Eindhoven to carry out waste management services.
The fleet of Renewi has been renewed with more than 500 new DAF Euro VI vehicles in the past three years. The next step is operating the next generation DAF XD series in combination with the well-known Geesink GPM IV with GEC lifter. The company wants to reduce the ecological footprint of its fleet of vehicles dramatically in the coming years.
The short wheelbase and positive feedback from the drivers on the body and lifter have resulted in the choice for this configuration. The GPM IV body has a volume of 24 m3 and features the ETB arms to handle both 2- and 4-wheeled containers and the large Eurotainers. This new configuration meets the strict environmental regulations that (will) apply in the large cities. The units are quiet, clean and help in protecting the vulnerable road users.
