Geesinknorba handed over the first of four Norba multi fraction rear loaders on full electric chassis to Urbaser Denmark.
The full electric MF rear loaders are specifically designed for the Danish waste management company. The units feature a dual compartment body and can handle both 660l 4-wheel containers and split-bins that are commonly used in Denmark. The 660l containers need to be emptied in the narrow compartment which requires a special solution: the folding wall. With the newly designed folding wall the opening can be enlarged to be able to empty 660l container in the smallest compartment.
We also fitted a storage box on both sides of the body to collect small batteries separately. Our competitor has a solution where ten boxes are stored between the body and cabin. We engineered two six-storage boxes between the body and battery pack of the chassis. With this solution operators can easily access the boxes and have two more storage boxes than RCVs of other brands have.
The electrification of the Mercedes Econic chassis has been done by Emoss, a company in the Netherlands. We have been in close contact with Emoss to ensure a successful end-result. The chassis features a 200 kWh battery pack, a strong 350 kW engine and the LI-ON Power PRO to connect the chassis batteries to the body. The unit can carry 7.5t of waste, consumes less energy and as a result, presents a top of the bill performance. The range of this refuse collection vehicle is 100 to 150 km, which is sufficient to complete the collection rounds in the Sønderborg region.
We wish Urbaser lots of safe collecting kilometers!
