Geesinknorba: 146 years of innovation
In 1875, Jacobus Geesink began to manufacture carts, street cleaning trolleys, and fire hoses. In 1915, he built a horse-drawn refuse collection vehicle and, in 1930, a refuse collection vehicle with a rotating drum.
In 1972, Geesink introduced the GPMI, the first refuse collection vehicle equipped with the Geesink press mechanism. Since then, Geesink has become synonymous with a vehicle capable of leading any type of waste with unsurpassed reliability. The Geesink brand has an excellent reputation for handling the widest range of containers thanks to its extensive range of integrated container lifting mechanisms.
In 2000, Geesink acquired the Swedish refuse collection system manufacturer Norba, whose market share in Scandinavia exceeded 80%. From then on, Geesink and Norba entered a new era in which each contributed its experience and technology as manufacturers of refuse collection systems. As a result of this merger, the company was renamed Geesinknorba.
The company has been established in Spain for 30 years. Over this period, it has experienced continuous growth and, in the past three years, exponential growth. This has required us to move to new and larger facilities in Madrid this year followed by Barcelona next year.
At the moment, we offer an entire range of refuse collection systems: standard, hybrid, electric and mixed electric-hydrogen, and soon we will be offering a fully green hydrogen option.
