Geesinknorba has delivered this new Geesink KT1 truck to Active Recycling AB, a recycling company in Borås, Sweden, that has a strong focus on producer responsibility.
Mr Alexander Dia, CEO at Active Recycling says: ‘Our largest customers are Swedish Glass Recycling and Packaging & Newspaper Collection. In addition to producer responsibility, we work a lot with release and take-home of containers and big bags in Stockholm County, Uppsala and also Skåne County, where we mainly collaborate with tenant-owner associations and private individuals.
For the Packaging and Newspaper Collection, we collect around 1,500 tonnes of paper and 600 tonnes of plastic packagings per year in Härryda and Partille municipalities. On behalf of Svensk Glas Återvinning, we process all glass materials, approx. 6,700 tonnes per year at recycling stations and -centres throughout Uppsala County.
It supports our mission to choose for this ‘elephant RCV’ (as it is called in the industry) that consists of a Volvo FM chassis, HIAB crane and Geesink refuse body. The truck or ‘Black Pearl’ as I call it, will operate 365 days a year and collect about 45,000 containers a year. The city containers we collect are owned by FTI and are located at recycling stations in residential areas.
By choosing a product from Geesinknorba, we ensure that waste will be compressed optimally in order to reduce the environmental impact and transport costs.’
We wish the people from Active Recycling success with this Black Pearl!
